Kansas Concealed Carry Course
Why should you get a license?
This class meets the Kansas Attorney General's requirements and will qualify you to apply for a Kansas Concealed Carry License.
Why should you get a concealed carry license when Kansas doesn't require it?
- Other states will still require it if you take your firearm when you travel.
- It provides an exemption from the Federal prohibition of firearms on school property.
- It will exempt you form the NICS check and thereby speed up firearms purchases.
- Not only that, but the class provides valuable information about the use of deadly force.
What to Expect
The class is a minimum of 8 hours (but may run longer) as required by the Attorney General. 6.5 hours of that will be lecture covering topics such as:
- Basic Introduction to Handguns
- Firearm Care and Maintenance
- Laws Regarding Use of Force
- Preparing for Confrontations
- Firearm Manipulation
- And more!
This course has a written test and a live fire qualification.
Equipment Needed
Eye protection and ear protection will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own if you desire.
You are required to bring your own handgun to qualify with. The instructors will inspect your firearm prior to qualification and they reserve the right to refuse to allow an unsafe firearm on the range. There is an option to rent a firearm under limited circumstances, but you should already possess the marksmanship skills necessary to pass the qualification course.
